We are lucky to have a teacher like Mr Pearce, I would’nt be writing this right now if it was’nt for Mr P. He also makes blogs and wikis, say this is a blog and Middle P Pratlings is a blog[I will give you links to some of our blogs]. I really love racing cars, especally formula 1. My favourite driver is Micheal Schumacher of corse. My favourite color is red and my favourite f1 team is red [Ferrari]. But the sad thing is that Michael just retiered after 15 years of f1 and 7 world championchips. I have one pet, a cat named Sashen and when I was eight my roof of my bedroom colapsed. You can see the photo if you go to Google and tipe in Petrina Conway. Thats about it, Bye!

In England!

November 7, 2006

“Wow, look oner there Mum, it’s Heathrow! Today at 3:47am Mum and I landed in England. “Crrrrrrrrrrrr”!. The tyres screeched across the runway. On Saturday the 3rd at 2:40 we boarded the plane to go to England. The name of the airline was Cathay Pacific. I got a window seat which was good and we were ready for take off. ”This is your captain speaking, in about 2 minuets we will be taking off, so please fasten your seat-belts.”  It took 10 hours to get to Hong Kong and I didn’t feel so good but Mum still let me have Burger King. It was $8.00 for a reg fries………..In Hong Kong money that is. Thats about $1.20 in Aussie money. When we got off the plane we had to go get our passports checked. The Que went for miles. But on the other side there was English people in a line that was probably not even a quarter of our international line. Mum said to me, “Why don’t we get an English passport,” I didn’t anser. When we went to get our luggage it was supposed to be on thingy majgigy 9 but it wasn’t moving, so then an announcement came over  that it was on thingy majgigy 11. When we looked over there, there was a pile of suitcases on the floor and wheels everywhere and even worse my suitcase was broken! But a bit worse was that it wasn’t moving ether! But the only good part was that mum’s wasn’t there! YEAH! 40 minutes later [it felt more like 40 hours to me] we got our luggage. It was 5:30am and it was light as! It was as light as it would be at 10:30am.  On the first day I just slouched round on the couch sleeping. The only thing I did was go and see cricket with my Uncle down at the local club Wallington. Wallington thrashed them beating them by 194 runs! When I woke up the next morning it was light so I got up. I had my breakfast and shower and got changed but little did I know that it was only 5:00am! Later that morning Mum and I went down town to have a look round. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Every shop you walked past there were St George flags and teddy bears with English soccer tops on! We walked past this sports store and the windows were covered in English flags! One side had St George flag in it and on the other window there was the Union Jack. It was unbelievable. Also, every car that went past had an English flag on it. It was funny one time though when a car went past it’s flag fell off which was good to see and I had a little chuckle[actually it was more than a chuckle]. Then we were on our way to the train station, then going on to the underground to Kings Cross to go to Picadilly Square.

Bring On The Ashes!

November 7, 2006

The Ashes is a very special match between Australia and England. The matches go for 5 days depending on the scores. It is probably the most fierce rivalry in cricket. The ‘Urn’ is the thing they call it. It is very small, probably about as big as Mr Pearce’s hand. It’s home is at the Oval in England. It has special writing over it. The reason they call it the Ashes is somewhere in the late 1800’s, England lost and the paper said “English Cricket died on this day in 1800 something. So thats where it’s name comes from. This year the Ashes will be held here in Australia. There are 5 test matches starting on November 23rd to the 27th starting in Brisbane. You can watch it on channel 9. Bring it on.

It will take 24 hours to get to England. We will arrive on the 4th. Firstly my Uncle will pick Mum and I up very early in the morning and then we go back to my Uncle’s place in London. After Mum getting over jet lag and get some sleep we will get used to the surroundings. On the 7th we travel to somewhere in England to see another Uncle, Peter and spend some with him. He lives with my 2nd cousins Sam and Jack.  We spend another day with him and then on the 9th we will go to Grantham to my Auntie V. Mum says she cooks the best Roast dinners so I have something to look forward to. We leave Grantham on the 12th. On the 13th we are back to London to see my Uncle and his Wife and the cat named Freddie. It was named Freddie after Andrew Flintoff’s nickname. In London some of the places we are going to go are, the London Eye, Big Ben, the Jewel Tower which tells the history and Buckingham Palace.
